Welcome on my website, a platform to introduce you to my work.

Let’s start with a touch of humour: I felt into creation when young, as Obelix felt into the magic potion! And the rest is history...

I am the son of a talented sign painter, who was specialized in the creation and execution of independent shop’s signs and the decoration of advertising vehicles. Beyond that, what attracted and motivated me the most, were the cinema panels that my father
used to paint in two or three hours, every week; shots or landscapes from the movie, with their heroes in the header, actors or actresses of the time.

I then enjoyed spending many of my Thursdays and vacations in his studio, becoming a ‘sketch kitten’, an apprentice. This is how I started to learn how to handle brushes, rollers, and other paint guns; to paint panel’s backgrounds, and later draw or paint letters on them.

As a teenager, I started to work with my dad on a full-time basis. Our business, mostly manual at the time, has gradually shifted towards screen printing. We were specialized in the creation and printing of advertising posters in very large formats - from the initial artwork proposed to the customers -made with a line pen and gouache-, through the preparation of the screenshots (still

manual at the time) and screen printing.

Our modest family business, ‘Sérigraphie Carpentier’, then quickly expanded, became mechanized in a few years, and multiplied on three sites. This is where I spent more than 40 years of my life. All my professional life in short ! All this, without ever forgetting the fundamentals, as we say at rugby !

I then continued to create for pleasure, as a hobby or to improve my skills; often in watercolour, but experiencing other mediums too, sketching portraits or caricatures, painting holiday memories, a friend's house or the sea, quietly sitting on a beach...And then, once retired, my fingers were caught in the gears. From a few canvases painted to offer to my family or at the request of some of my friends, a first collective exhibition quickly arrived in a neighbourhood house in Mérignac (near Bordeaux, France). Later, a second one...!

Over the course of wonderful encounters, came the pleasure of being able to set up my first personal exhibition. Since then, brushes and painting knives never ceased to travel on the canvas, temporary exhibitions followed one another, and you can find me on demand at a permanent exhibition site in Bordeaux.
